The City of Maumee has launched a Trash and Recycling Survey to gather community input that will help guide decisions as the city prepares to negotiate a new refuse and recycling contract.

The current contract, established in 2016, is set for renewal in 2026. While Maumee residents currently benefit from some of the lowest refuse and recycling rates in the region, industry-wide cost increases are anticipated in the coming years. These include:

• Rising labor costs for refuse and recycling company employees

• General inflation and the cost of providing services

• Lower market prices for recyclable materials

“As costs rise across the industry, resident feedback is critical to help us make informed decisions about future service levels, pricing, and priorities,” said Jon Fiscus, Maumee City Councilman and chair of the Public Information Committee.

Survey responses are anonymous and confidential and will be used solely for research purposes. The data will not be sold or shared, and participants will not be contacted for any other purpose.

Residents are encouraged to participate by scanning the QR code below or clicking the link
