Council Committees

MAUMEE CITY COUNCIL: 2026-2027 COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS

Finance & Economic Development

This committee reviews requests for City funding, including operating and capital appropriations. It works with the Administration to assess financing methods and consider related recommendations. The Committee also evaluates proposed tax legislation, reviews prices or rental fees for City property, and handles any related matters assigned by the Council or Mayor.

Employee & Community Relations

This committee reviews and recommends legislative actions and initiatives related to City employees and the broader community. It evaluates employment terms, job descriptions, employee ordinances, and handbooks, and may advise Council on personnel matters such as new positions, divisions, or departments. The Committee also handles any related matters assigned by the Council or Mayor.

Building, Lands, & Recreation Committee

This committee reviews and recommends legislative actions related to the maintenance and repair of City‑owned buildings, parking lots, parks, cemeteries, and other public lands. It reviews maintenance and recreation budgets and considers recommendations from the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission on related projects and programs. The Committee also addresses any related matters assigned by the Council or Mayor.

Public Services Committee

This committee reviews and recommends legislation related to City‑provided utilities, including water, sewer, stormwater, garbage collection, and recycling, as well as services such as street and sidewalk maintenance. It also addresses any related matters assigned by the Council or Mayor.

Public Safety Committee

The committee reviews and recommends legislation related to criminal ordinances and the operations of the Fire and Police Divisions. It also addresses community safety policies, including animal issues, crime prevention, fire response, disaster preparedness, and traffic management. The Committee handles any related matters assigned by the Council or Mayor.
