We are honored to introduce the Banners of Bravery program, a heartfelt initiative by the Maumee Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Maumee to proudly recognize and celebrate the service and sacrifice of our local military heroes.
This program honors the brave men and women from Maumee who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces. As a tribute to their courage, these personalized banners will be displayed on city light poles along the Anthony Wayne Trail, between White and King Streets, from mid-October through November, in honor of Veterans Day.
Banners: Each banner will include a military photo of the honoree, along with their name, military branch, and rank (if known). A total of 46 banner locations are available and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis for those who meet the eligibility criteria.
Eligibility: To be eligible, the honoree must: Have served in the U.S. Armed Forces (active duty, reserves, or National Guard). Have a connection to Maumee, either through residency or by attending Maumee schools for at least four years.
Cost: There is a $30 fee per banner, this fee is supplemented by Serenity Realty, which has generously sponsored this program. Serenity Realty is proud to honor the courageous men and women who have served our nation, ensuring their sacrifice and dedication are prominently celebrated throughout our community.
Deadline: The deadline to submit a banner application is September 26th, or until the 46 spots are filled. If your family would like to participate or learn more about the application process, please visit: https://maumeechamber.com/salute-to-service-veteran-banners/
