Parade:
This year’s Memorial Day Parade will step off at 9:30 a.m. at Maumee United Methodist Church. The parade will travel south across the Anthony Wayne Trail to E. John then to Conant Street where it will end at Union School.
Remembrance Ceremony:
Following the parade a remembrance ceremony will commence at the Civil War Monument in front of Maumee‘s eternal flame memorial at Union School.
Open House:
Following the Remembrance Ceremony, the American Legion Post 320 at 204 Illinois will host a community open house.
Maumee Fire Division Memorial Ceremony:
The Maumee Fire Division will host its annual Memorial Day ceremony, commencing at 8:30 a.m. at the Maumee Fire Station at 220 Illinois Ave.
National Poppy Day:
American Legion Post 320 members will distribute poppies to the public on Friday, May 24.
Cemetery Flag Placements:
At 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, American Legion volunteers will place American flags on the gravesites of each Maumee veteran at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Fallen Timbers Battlefield Memorial:
The Fallen Timbers Battlefield Preservation Commission will host a Memorial at the Monument ceremony at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, to honor all veterans. The site is located at 5601 Anthony Wayne Trail in Maumee.
