About the Maumee Fire Division

Since 1838, the Maumee Fire Division (MFD) has been deeply committed to the protection of our highly supportive community.  We are a thorough professional service, a duty we serve with pride and honor.  The MFD has evolved into a new full-time fire department responding to over 2,600 calls annually, including mutual and auto aid, in a growing city of mixed residential, recreational, commercial, and industrial areas.  Our Fire Administration consists of the Fire Chief, two Deputy Chiefs, and one Fire Safety Inspector.  Our Full-time personnel are assigned to (3) shifts, working 24 hours on duty and 48 hours off duty.  There are a total of 21 Full-time employees on shift, with each shift having 1 Lieutenant, 4 Firefighter/Paramedics, and 2 Paramedics.  We also have 22 Part-time Firefighter/EMT/Paramedics supplementing our shifts.

Our apparatus fleet consists of 1 engine (pumper), 1 Heavy Rescue, 2 Ladder trucks, 3 ambulances, 2 Rescue Boats, 1 Jet Ski, and several other support vehicles.  We also have a large Public Safety Training Center set on 10 acres, including one of the areas only Class A burn buildings.
