Beneficial programs available to assist Senior Citizens who reside within the City of Maumee.
Senior Citizen Water Discount Program
The City of Maumee is pleased to offer water & sanitary sewer discounts to senior citizens and total permanently disabled persons within the City of Maumee service area who are enrolled in the senior citizen discount program. Please access the application below:
“Staying Connected” Program
Run through the Ohio Department of Aging.
Receive a daily telephone call to check on a person’s well-being. The participant gets to choose the time of the call –any hour from 7:00 am – 6:00pm. The resident can easily contact the Department of Aging to be removed if there is a conflict with their schedule for a particular day, week or even month. The daily telephone call is generated by a computer but monitored by personnel. If the phone call is not answered after THREE attempts, a police crew is sent to the home to check on the participant’s safety & well-being.

“Senior Outreach” Program
This program involves a regular weekly check-up by a Citizen Police Academy Volunteer and then a monthly visit by a Maumee Police Officer to ensure that the person’s basic needs are being met. It is extremely beneficial for those who may be “homebound” or with little outside assistance. Referrals can be made for assistance along with important information relayed to the citizen concerning transportation, scams/cons, garbage carryout service, etc.
