Get ready to celebrate the holiday season with two exciting community events: the Holiday Hustle 5K Race and the Holiday Light Parade! Whether you are a runner, a spectator, or someone who loves holiday cheer, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Join us on Sunday, December 1st in Uptown Maumee for a day of fun, fitness, and festive celebration.

The Elf Fun Run 1K Race is for runners ages 12 and under.

  • Start Time: 4:45 p.m. (Before the Holiday Hustle)
  • Location: Maumee Indoor Theater is the start & finish line
  • Entry Fee: $10
  • Perks: prizes for the first 50 to cross the finish line & a tee shirt for those who pre-register while supplies last.

 

The Holiday Hustle 5K Race & One-Mile Fun Walk

  • Start Time: 5:15 p.m.
  • Location: Maumee Indoor Theater is the start & finish line
  • Entry Fee: $25 pre-registration or $30 day of race
  • Perks: prizes for winners in age brackets plus special prizes for best illuminated and most creative holiday costumes.

Holiday Light Parade sponsored by the Maumee Uptown Business Association:

After the race, the holiday magic continues with the annual Holiday Light Parade! Watch as beautifully decorated floats, cars, and marching groups light up the streets, spreading holiday joy throughout the city. This beloved tradition is the perfect way to enjoy the magic of the season with family and friends:

  • Time: Approximately 6:15 p.m. or after the Holiday Hustle is finished.
  • Location: The Parade steps off at the Maumee Indoor Theater and travels south to West Wayne to Ford Street.
  • Special Highlights: Expect appearances from local performers, Santa Claus, and Grand Marshalls Maumee Mayor Jim MacDonald along with Kid Mayors Sadie Mallin of St. Joseph Catholic School, Natalie Lewis of Fairfield Elementary, and Calihan Byers of Fort Miami Elementary.

 

Street Closures – the following streets will close at 4:00 p.m.:

  • Conant Street
  • Wayne Street
  • William Street
  • Ford Street from U.S.24 to Clinic Drive. 
  • Barricades at US24 and Kingsbury will be in place.  No traffic will be allowed through Kingsbury from US24 to W. William until after the Parade is off of W. William. 

Parking will be restricted from 3 to 8 p.m. on the following streets

  • 200-500 Block of Conant Street
  • William Street
  • Wayne Street
  • 200-600 Block of Ford Street
  • Small parking lot north of court
  • 100 Block of W. Dudley angled parking next to Cigar Affair and Key Bank
