The City of Maumee is committed to ensuring compliance with Title II of the American with Disabilities Act.  The City has adopted the following policy for addressing requests for reasonable accommodations made by anyone with a disability in relation to city services, activities, programs, policies, procedures, rules and regulations.

Meeting Accommodations – Public Meeting Statement

It is the policy of the City of Maumee that all City-sponsored public meetings and events are accessible to people with disabilities.  If you need assistance in participating in this meeting or event due to a disability defined under the ADA, please call the City’s ADA Coordinator at (419) 897-7070 at least three (3) business days prior to the scheduled meeting or event to request an accommodation.

Reasonable Accommodations Policy

If you are seeking a reasonable accommodation through the ADA please submit your request in writing* to:

In compliance with City policy your request will be reviewed and the ADA Compliance Coordinator will advise requester within one week of receipt a determination on said request.  The request, if granted, will then be implemented by the appropriate City Department without further action by the requester.

If your request is NOT granted, the requester will be notified in writing of the decision, along with the requester’s rights to file a grievance under the City’s Grievance Procedure, in a format acceptable to the requester.  A copy of that procedure will be included in the correspondence to the petitioner.

* Alternate means of filing a request, such as personal interviews, phone calls, or taped requests, will be made available for persons with disabilities in unable to communicate their request in writing.
