The City of Maumee is seeking enthusiastic and community-minded residents to serve on the newly established Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission. This commission will play a key role in shaping the future of our parks, recreation programs, and community spaces.

The commission will develop comprehensive, integrated recreation policies to guide the City’s efforts in acquiring, developing, promoting, maintaining, and operating parks, playgrounds, recreational facilities, and programs.

Who We’re Looking For:

We invite residents who are passionate about:

  • Youth or adult sports and activities
  • Parks and open spaces
  • Recreation programs and community wellness
  • Volunteerism and community engagement

 

Commission Responsibilities:

Members will:

  • Meet at least six times per year
  • Advise on park conditions and improvement needs
  • Support volunteer initiatives
  • Review small grant opportunities
  • Provide input on programming and community recreation priorities

 

Commission Make-up

  • This is a seven-member commission, with the Mayor appointing five members, and the Buildings, Lands, and Recreation Committee appointing two members.
