James MacDonald
Jim MacDonald is serving his first term on council beginning January 2020. Jim retired from the City of Maumee Police Division in 2018 after 32 years of service. His last position in the Police Division was Police Chief serving in that capacity for 5 years. Jim has a Masters degree in Public Administration from The University of Toledo. He also had the distinct opportunity to attend the FBI National Academy on leadership in the fall of 2013 in Quantico, VA. He was one of five individuals in the State of Ohio to get the honor that year. Jim was selected as Maumee Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award for 2018. He is currently a member of the Finance & Economic Development and Parks & Recreation Committees.
Mr. MacDonald brings an experienced leadership in city administration to City Council, is committed to providing quality city services to Maumee residents, sound financial principles and safety for our neighborhoods and businesses, making Maumee an excellent place to live and work.
Jim is married to Linda MacDonald. They have been Maumee residents for over 35 years raising their two children, Jessica and Eric through the Maumee Schools. Jim and Lin have five grandchildren.
