Our goal is to ensure the health, safety and
welfare of the public through diligent enforcement of
adopted laws pertaining to zoning, residential and
commercial construction, and property maintenance of
existing structures. The Maumee Municipal Code of Ordinances
may be viewed here.
The task of the Inspection Division is two-fold:
1. One task is to uphold the zoning code of the City
in respect to allowable district uses, bulk regulations for
lot sizes and setbacks, off-street parking, signage, and
flood plain regulations.
2. The other task is to regulate new construction and
property maintenance by enforcing established minimum
requirements for premises, structures, mechanical equipment;
and facilities for light, ventilation, heating, sanitation;
and safety from fire, structural collapse and other hazards
to safe and sanitary maintenance.
Over the next several pages you will read about our
duties and functions, what codes we enforce, how to get a
permit and information on select zoning topics. I hope this
information will be useful to you and user friendly.
With kindest regards,
Bruce Wholf
