
9-11 Remembrance Ceremony

A remembrance ceremony was held in the Police Division Courtyard to remember and honor the victims of the 9-11 tragedy and the brave police, firefighters and EMS personnel who gave their lives to save others.

Sgt. Stratton, addressed the group about how his faith in the Country was strengthened when he saw how neighbors came together. He also spoke of his duty in Iraq and what it meant to him to know the support his family received while he was overseas in the War on Terror.

Judge Gary Byers spoke about his memories on the morning and throughout the day on September 11th, 2001
Maumee Mayor Timothy Wagener spoke to the gathering about our need to remember and to never forget what happened on that day and how America banded together.
Maumee Chief of Police Robert Zink commented on the Heroism he witnessed in officers and ordinary citizens alike and the greatness of the United States of America.
